Because there is many amazing flats in Copenhagen and Airbnb's provide more flexibility :)
Book soon. We recommend booking as soon as you know that you're coming (and after you RSVP'd). Prices can go up quite quickly and most places have a free cancellation period, so we recommend booking and adjusting throughout the year if need be.
Coordinate with others, if you know you would rather go in an Airbnb reach out to others and see if you can find a deal somewhere nice! The bigger the group, the cheaper (probably).
Stay a little longer. Stay the week before, stay the week after. We know that you're super busy, but Copenhagen is truly a beautiful city, If you have the time, it is worth checking out, the culture, the museums, the food. There is a reason we both got stuck here, so if you have the time, stay a little longer :).
Using the Copenhagen public transport system is extremely intuitive. The metro starts IN the airport and is very safe. It runs 24/7 and covers the biggest parts of the city. Otherwise you can also use the bus.
In order to use public transport there is an app called: REJSEKORT which you can use to check in and out before your trips.
Copenhagen is a bike city: Dronning Louises Bro Bridge which is one of the busiest cycling routes has over 40,000 cyclists crossing it daily. So we highly recommend you either rend a bike at your hotel or download an app such as Donkey Republic. Then you can rent bikes as you need them throughout your stay in Copenhagen.
Please note, Copenhageners take their biking very seriously so be mindful and read the RULES.
Okay. Let's be honest, Copenhagen is small you can probably also walk a lot! So do it, it's a beautiful city.
And also, if you need a taxi, Uber works in Copenhagen soooooo :)
Friday night there is Friday Rock in Tivoli, so you can spend all day in the amusement park and then get a free concert in the evening.
Jump into the Copenhagen Canal
Visit the freetown Christiana
Copenhagen is a super duper foodie scene, you can get pretty amazing tasting menus, and also insane street food.
Some staples that one should consider trying, for cultural reasons:
- Smørrebrød: Open-faced rye bread sandwich (really the most danish thing, they eat it ALL THE TIME)
- Fransk Hotdog: the hot dog stands are everywhere, Danish people have an OBSESSION
- BMO: Bread with Butter and Cheese, every bakery does them and they are truly a danish staple
But if you are a foodie we recommend you do some research because Copenhagen really has it all... ALLL OF IT!

Any Danish Bodega
In danish Bodegas you are still allowed to smoke indoors, so plan in that shower because you will smell.... lovely.. typically these establishments are a last minute resort for a night cap. But they are also oddly cozy and hygge..
